While mass media caters to an increasingly narrow band of musical interests, the variety and quality of sounds from underground, alternative sources on the internet is exploding. As we are originally music fans, we have compiled this list of some of the artists, deejays and producers we look to for original, underground music.

  • William Bottin This Italian artist's work appears on George W. Bush's More Greatest Hits.
  • Solano Project This Florida deejay and record artist produced tracks that appear on George W. Bush's Greatest Hits, Volume I as well as Seasons Greetings from George W. Bush & Friends.

  • Eclectic Method: They have a unique style of mashing-up music video and film snips like DJs mix records.
  • NegativLand: Collaboration of audio collage artists, site loaded with cool media to enjoy.
  • Escape Mechanism: Using fragments of sound from the film reels, radios, television sets and record releases which make up our often overpowering media environment, Escape Mechanism is an experiment in recycled media.
  • Public Works Productions: A centralized info-repository for The Tape-Beatles and public works, great sample audio and video collage pieces on this site.
  • People Like Us: Vicki Bennett's site for animated and recontextualized found footage collages with an equally witty and dark view of popular culture with a surrealistic edge, both pre-recorded and in a live setting.
  • The Evolution Control Committee: For nearly 20 years, The Evolution Control Committee has been combining new technology with old-fashioned showmanship to produce internationally acclaimed performances, their site has lots of collage multimedia to explore.
